Annapolis Yacht Company History

Annapolis Yacht CompanyEzra B. Androus sits at the helm as President and CEO of Annapolis Yacht Company having founded the company in 1998. Formerly called Annapolis Motor Yachts, the original company was the leader in Larger Yacht sales in the Mid-Atlantic region dating back to the mid 1980's. Mr. Androus came on board Annapolis Motor Yachts originally as a broker and quickly earned the role of general manager.

After two years, Androus had positioned himself for a buyout of the entire company and did so in 1998. He quickly set out to grow the company and build on the rock solid foundation Annapolis Motor Yachts had developed after so many years in the business. Success occurred quickly as Androus was able to contract three large yachts in the first month under his ownership. This reinforced his decision to take over the company and he has never looked back since.

Annapolis Yacht Company HeadquartersToday, Annapolis Yacht Company's headquarters enjoys the most premier location in Annapolis. Situated in the heart of the historic district at 6 Dock St in Downtown Annapolis, the office is steps from the famous inlet "Ego Alley" just behind the harbormaster's office. This is some of the most prominent real estate around the waterfront. The downtown office serves the vast amount of local boaters as well as the great number of "out-of-towners" who come to Annapolis in search of their next dream yacht. The office is within close proximity of the major metropolitan communities of Washington DC and Baltimore MD. One can be in downtown DC or Baltimore within a short 35 minute drive from the office.

Ezra Androus: CEO / President

Ezra Androus, CEO / President, Annapolis Yacht Company Ezra Androus began boating on the Potomac River, Chesapeake Bay and North Haven Maine as a youngster. In his summer’s home from college, he worked on commercial riverboats on his home waters of the Potomac River. He enjoyed various roles from deckhand to being the voice of the guided tours along Old Town Alexandria's beautiful waterfront.

Somehow, he always seemed to find a way to be on the water; be it during work or afterwards windsurfing and waterskiing with friends. Eventually, he found opportunities to participate in offshore deliveries and continued to gain more and more knowledge.

He now holds a 100-ton Master’s license and brings much experience to his client's. He is very comfortable advising on matters such as; financing, insurance, slip location, refit and consultation, but adds a personal relationship that extends beyond a simple yacht transaction. He says, "We build long-term friendships that have produced countless repeat customers who will go nowhere else to do business".

Ezra is very proud of the business he has worked so hard to grow. Now overseeing two offices, with multiple brokers in each, is enough to keep him more than busy. However, he still makes time to take his wife and three young children out cruising on their 42' Custom Chesapeake Bay Deadrise named "Hercules". There is no doubt where you will find Ezra when you need to call on his skills….somewhere near the water!
